Today’s public transportation in rural Japan is unsustainable in light of declining population, increasing age and financial pressure on city’ budgets – an issue not solely affecting Japan but most developed nations in the 2020s.

This coalition’s ambition is to commercialize zero-emissions vessels operating along deep-sea trade routes by 2030.

This sector must almost entirely decarbonize by 2050 to meet Paris Agreement targets, even as demand for road freight is expected to triple.
